    With our sophisticated laser technology, we process the parts prepared by electroplating in such a way that neither a chrome nor metal layer is created in existing symbols during the final coating. This enables us to create extremely fine symbols as well as lines and high-precision labelling that can later be X-rayed.

    INJECTION MOULDING

     

    We give loose granulate a functional shape.
    Hübner-KTB Oberflächentechnik GmbH produces components to customer specifications using 1K, 2K and 3K plastic injection moulding processes on over 6,500 m² at two sites with well over 50 plastic injection moulding machines in the clamping force range up to 6500 kN.

    Our systems are fully automated and usually equipped with camera systems to monitor component quality.
    The degree of automation is sustainably increased by highly efficient CNC handling systems.

    Injection moulding with up to three components enables Hübner-KTB to produce a wide range of multifunctional parts from variable plastics. Following an individual consultation, we can offer our customers transfer, core-back or index technology for the 2K and 3K process with a view to economic and technical aspects.

    Granulate pre-drying and central granulate supply, tool maintenance by our mould making department and, last but not least, careful measurements to determine quantity and quality ensure the required process reliability and virtually constant machine running times.

    PLASTIC ELECTROPLATING

     

    Our plastic electroplating facilities are state of the art and ensure the surface finishing of plastic raw parts made of ABS or ABS-PC. Hübner-KTB has many years of extensive expertise in the electroplating of plastic parts for both interior and exterior applications with various chrome surfaces (high-gloss or matt in many degrees of gloss). Electroplating with metal layers gives the surfaces an attractive appearance, strong scratch resistance, a more stable bond with high heat resistance and the best protection against static charging, electrical interference (shielding) and the effects of UV light. Due to the different requirements, surfaces, geometries, etc., there is a separate processing programme for each article, which is entered into the control system of the electroplating machine.
    As a company, we are a member of the Fachverband Galvanisierter Kunststoffe e.V. (FGK) and pay careful attention to the handling of all incoming and outgoing resources.

    All relevant process baths are extracted in our electroplating systems. The exhaust air is then cleaned 100 per cent in the designed exhaust air system, which was built according to the latest technical and chemical standards. We verify this functionality with continuous monitoring measurements.
    Thanks to our ultra-modern water treatment systems, the waste water produced in rinses and process baths is converted back into pure water. After these processes, each batch of water is assessed in a final check and only released if it fulfils the high specifications. We use external laboratories and the relevant authorities to check these analyses.

    PVD

     

    As a recognised surface coater, Hübner-KTB Oberflächentechnik GmbH offers the best of two technological processes – the “electro-chemical” process and the “physical vapour deposition” process.
    PVD and plastic electroplating offer the greatest possible variety of combinations with all the important advantages for an excellent, long-lasting and visibly high-quality surface. The PVD process helps with the direct coating of plastics.
    Be it germ or allergen-free surfaces, abrasion and scratch-resistant and even splinter-free surfaces: our PVD process optimises the surface properties of a product many times over.
    The complete process service including comprehensive advice, precise layer analysis and layer development plus laser engraving forms the perfect basis for an extensive range of colours and the best surface qualities thanks to our in-house PVD coatings without compromise.

    LASER TECHNOLOGY

     

    Components pre-treated in electroplating are further processed in our laser production. In this way, we prevent a layer of chrome or metal from growing in the desired symbols during the final coating process. This technology makes it possible to produce even the finest symbols, lines or very precise labelling that can even be seen through in night-time design. Our hidden line process is another customised production process. It is used to create structures that are almost invisible during the day and yet shine through in the dark. We use partially and fully automatic machines for this, which are subjected to permanent quality monitoring by camera inspection. We can produce labelling panels up to a size of 600 mm x 600 mm. We have 5 laser systems, 2 precision lasers and 2 fully automatic machines available for production. Several laser technologies and applications are protected by our own patent and utility model rights.
